Choosing the Right Surrogacy Partner
No outsourcing
We do as many critical functions as possible in-house, like medical records collection and all recruiting functions. Why? Because we get critical information on our surrogates throughout and this makes us better at matching with our families.
Deep bench of expertise
You’ll find that our team is especially experienced in working at fertility clinics and this helps us inform and enable better decisionmaking among all.
Transparency
We have no secret ownership, special medical interests or provider kickbacks - we represent your and your surrogates’ interests to the best of our ability.
Generous team ownership
Each journey has a Success Coordinator and Manager that can give true attention to each of our clients. We do not overstaff and dehumanize an inherently human process.

Where are Nascency's surrogates from?
At Nascency, every part of our program is intentionally designed to support the highest likelihood of success—for both intended parents and surrogates. That’s why we work exclusively with surrogates based in the United States. We recruit directly from across the country, only in states where surrogacy is legal, so we can personally vet and build relationships with women who are deeply mission-driven, conscientious, and committed to the process. We do not outsource recruitment or rely on third-party networks, because we believe success starts with knowing our surrogates well. We also choose to work only within the U.S. because it offers the most advanced reproductive health outcomes in the world, with leading IVF success rates and a deeply established legal infrastructure for surrogacy. This environment gives us—and the families we serve—the predictability, protection, and clinical excellence needed to navigate this journey with confidence. In short, we don’t take shortcuts. Our focus is on building a program around what actually works—and making decisions that lead to successful, healthy outcomes for everyone involved.
How does the surrogacy process work?
The surrogacy journey involves several key steps to ensure a smooth and legally protected path to parenthood. Intended parents start with a consultation to discuss their goals, followed by the matching process, where they are paired with a thoroughly screened surrogate. Once matched, both parties complete medical and psychological evaluations, and a legal contract is drafted to outline rights and responsibilities. After legal clearance, an embryo is created through IVF and transferred to the surrogate. Upon a confirmed pregnancy, the surrogate receives prenatal care while the intended parents prepare for the birth. Legal steps, such as a pre- or post-birth order, establish parental rights before the baby arrives. The entire process typically takes 12–24 months, with Nascency providing guidance and support at every stage.
Who does Nascency work with?
We support a diverse range of Intended Parents who pursue surrogacy for many reasons—medical, social, emotional, or otherwise. No matter what brings you to this path, our role is to provide steady, compassionate guidance every step of the way. Our clients include, but are not limited to: 1) Couples navigating infertility or pregnancy loss; 2) Single parents by choice; 3) LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples; and 4) Intended Parents facing high-risk pregnancies or genetic conditions. We proudly partner with families both in the United States and around the world, united by a shared commitment to building families through surrogacy.
How does matching work?
At Nascency, matching intended parents with a surrogate is a careful, thoughtful, and highly personalized process. Unlike agencies that outsource recruiting or purchase leads, we manage our own surrogate recruitment from start to finish. This allows us to build real relationships with each surrogate over time—learning their values, preferences, communication styles, and habits through months of direct engagement. We take the same intentional approach in getting to know you. Through conversations and preference-gathering, we gain a deep understanding of what you're truly looking for in a surrogate. We also use this time to help educate and guide you through the matching process. Once we’ve collected preferences from both sides, we assess alignment across key areas: values, communication styles, medical choices, birth plans, and more. When we identify a potential match, we’ll share the surrogate’s profile with you first. If you’re interested, we’ll present your profile to the surrogate as well. Only when both parties opt in do we move forward with an introduction. Above all, we prioritize mutual compatibility and clear alignment, ensuring everyone feels confident, comfortable, and supported throughout the journey.
Do surrogates have any parental rights to the baby?
No. Before the embryo transfer takes place, a legally binding contract is established between the surrogate and the intended parents, clearly outlining that the intended parents are the child’s legal guardians and fulfilling requirements specific to the applicable state of residence. In most cases, a pre-birth or post-birth order is issued by the court to legally establish the intended parents’ rights before or shortly after birth, ensuring a seamless transition. Surrogates willingly enter the process with the understanding that they are carrying a child for the intended parents and have no legal or parental claim to the baby after delivery. Surrogacy laws vary by state and country, but Nascency works closely with experienced reproductive attorneys to ensure all legal protections are in place for both parties.
